We hope you and your family are out enjoying summer-time adventures! But, make sure to take a moment to add the following start dates for the upcoming 2019-2020 SMS school year to your calendar:
5th Grade Students:
Your first day of middle school is Friday, August 16 and will be a half day set aside just for you! You will get to meet all of your new teachers, learn how to use your new locker, learn your way around the building and enjoy your first lunch as a middle schooler! Doors will open at 7:30 a.m., the first bell is at 7:50 and you are then able to head to your new homeroom before the tardy bell rings at 8 a.m. You will be released at 1 p.m. and the buses will run their regular routes at that time.
6th, 7th and 8th Grade Students: Your first day of school will be Monday, August 19and we will jump right in with our standard schedule, doors open at 7:30, first bell at 7:50 and tardy bell at 8 a.m. The final bell announcing the end of the day will ring at 4 p.m.
During the school year, the SMS commons opens at 7:30 a.m. and the first bell rings at 7:50. Students are to be in class at 8 a.m. Students are released when the final bell rings at 4 p.m.
